It's been more than a decade already since Manchester United won the 2008 Champions league title by defeating fellow English side Chelsea 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. That day, a total number of 14 players were in action according to 'Be Soccer'. But, out of the players that were in the starting line up, it's only one player that is still playing professional football.
Owen Hargreaves, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick and Cristiano Ronaldo were also part of the squad. The squad also consists of Carlos Tevez, Anderson, Nani and Ryan Giggs. But, below is the starting Line Up.
Starting XI: Edwin van der Sar, Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney.
Out of the players in the starting line up, Cristiano Ronaldo is the only player that is still playing. Not only is he playing, he's playing at a very top level.
No doubt, Cristiano Ronaldo's longevity in the game is quite commendable. When he eventually retires, he will be remembered as one of the best players we have ever witnessed in this generation.
