5 Players Who Had Issues With Mourinho
Jose's players have to put up with a lot from him. When he gives them criticism, he does so in an effort to spur them on to greater achievement. There is always a good, a bad, and a boring moment with Jose. Jose isn't widely regarded as the best football coach in the world when it comes to style of play. As a result of this, he is aware of what it takes to win. With Porto and Inter Milan, winning the Champions League is no easy task. Here are some of the players who have had disagreements or who are not fond with Jose Mourinho.
5. David Luiz
4. William Gallas
Gallas was a familiar name to many of you from his time at Arsenal, where he captained the team and was given the No. 10 jersey by the departing Arsene Wenger. Chelsea's two Premier League titles under Jose Mourinho made the French defender a household name. However, despite his high opinion of Portugal's tactician, Gallas proceeded to undermine him to the fullest extent possible. Because of his desire to leave Stamford Bridge, Gallas failed to show up for preseason training and threatened to score own goals if Mourinho selected him.
3. Paul Pogba
Wasn't it inevitable that this would end in disaster? However, the early signs were encouraging, with Pogba flourishing after joining United for a then-world-record fee. Then his relationship with Mourinho went down the tubes as well. In March 2018, reports claimed that the two were no longer speaking, and Mourinho's infamous 'virus' jibe followed shortly after. Another incident occurred in training, when Pogba was stripped of the vice-captaincy and had an on-field argument with him.
2. Sergio Ramos
1. Luke Shaw
During Jose Mourinho's time as Manchester United manager, he had a tense relationship with Luke Shaw. His manager was continually criticizing the left back in the media for his alleged lack of 'football brain.' Shaw's form and enjoyment took a dramatic drop as a result of his retorts. Before Mourinho's reign came to an end, it appeared like the much-maligned defender would be the first out the door. Shaw was a shell of his previous, flying self as a result of the relentless bombardment of negative remarks, and it wasn't until Mourinho was fired that he began to live up to his potential.
