He says, “I had been a striker until I was maybe 12 or 13 at Chelsea and I looked up to Drogba. I don't actually know why, but when I was about 12, I was moved back into midfield. Then, when I was 15, I was moved to right-back and the first two years I hated it.”
Kudos should be given to those who discovered the right-back in James because he has made a name for himself in that position. He is not only playing as a right back, but in a more advanced right wing-back role and he has gotten plaudits from great coaches like Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti.
