UNITED ON POLE FOR PORTO STAR
Vitinha failed to impress Wolves but his form for Porto last season seems to have pitted Manchester United and Arsenal against each other.
The Portugal midfielder struggled to catch the eye in 23 fleeting appearances during a loan at Molineux in 2020-21 but only two players played more games for Porto when he returned last season.
According to A Bola, United have been checking on Vitinha since March and the Red Devils are the 22-year-old’s ‘number 1 pretender’. Which is apt description of United in general these days.
Newcastle have also been linked but for the Magpies, Vitinha hasn’t been a priority. Arsenal have shown more intent, and Porto president Pinto da Costa has already rebuffed one bid from an unnamed club while insisting that the player’s £35million release clause be met.
