Some hours ago, the Professional Footballers Association of the English Premier League announced the 2021/2022 awards for best player, young best player and the team of the season in both the men and women's category.
Mohammed Salah scooped the award for best player while Phil Foden took home another young player of the season award.
The biggest shock of the award and recognition of last season's performances was the exclusion of Son Heung-Min from the team of the season.
The Tottenham Hotspur forward who won the golden boot for the top goalscorer of the season missed out on the team.

Why this is a massive injustice
As a football fan, I feel very sorry for the South Korean international. After giving his all for Tottenham, scoring 23 league goals with non being penalties to qualify them for the next season's UEFA Champions League, he still got overlooked.
There is literally nothing he could've done to make this list that he didn't do last season. He proved himself with consistency, unlike some forwards in the team.
Apart from Mohammed Salah, none od the forwards in that list deserves to be there more than Son.
Don't get me wrong. Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane were terrific last season. But what Son did was special. He was able to lead Tottenham to achieve what many did not expect them to.
The fact that Ronaldo who failed to lead Manchester United to a top for finish despite scoring some very important goals is getting more recognition than the Asian star shows there is a massive injustice here.
Even Sadio Mane who had a very disappointing first half of the season by his standards got the nod over Son.
There is simply no criteria that makes those two guys worthy of a spot ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur forward. Absolutely none.
